Unemployment.

Okay, let me get the ball rolling with a subject that is very close to home, unemployment. I have been unemployed for more than a year after a wrongful termination from McDonald's. I was lucky enough to collect unemployment benefits for part of that time since the termination was no fault of mine. Those have run out and even though I've made over 500 job applications, I'm still not employed. Every day millions like me get to hear another story of layoffs and cuts and know it's not getting better. I see no end in sight because the government is so out of touch with the needs of the people. They all have their own agenda, and none of seems to be in the best interests of the real Americans. The hard working middle-class is being screwed! You would think the 'Media" would help, but sadly they're too busy listening to celebrities and celebrity Wanna-Be's like the Octi-Mom. Why are we allowing Hollywood to tell us what to think, what is important, and elect our leaders?
I read an article today that stated there is anywhere from 12-20 million illegal aliens in this country, I've heard estimates as high as 40 million! Why then are we not putting all our efforts into this problem? How many jobs would that free up for natural citizens and those here legally to work? I was very upset when I read that the E-verify provision was removed from the Stimulus Package, WHY?! It seems like an easy, achievable aide to use to help put jobs back in the hands of people who deserve them. I'm not trying to single out Hispanics, I just believe that the law should be enforced. It is especially important now with the unrest and violence that is going on just south of our border. People now have an even greater reason to cross the borders and it won't all be innocent victims! When will Washington wake up and smell the coffee! At the risk of offending a few, are we willing to close our eyes to this volcano ready to erupt? I hope not!!
